Peanut Butter Cookies {Pinecone Press: "C" is for Cookie}

My four year old loves to help me in the kitchen and this peanut butter cookie recipe is pretty kid friendly. She helps me all along the way including forking the cookies to put in the oven and then putting the chocolate chips or M&Ms on top when they come out of the oven. This little cookie is actually pretty similar to how the real cookies look!We don't make gingerbread men out of the dough, but I liked him with stickles :) I didn't have any pictures of the cookies or us baking them...but I think I'll make a coordinating page later on when I can remember to snap a few pictures.

Meeting Baby Kate {My Mind's Eye: Tiny Dancer}

I completed this layout using Julie's sketch for The Magpie Club. Those green buttons aren't photographing well, they match the layout better in real life! I had lots of fun - mainly because I think these pictures are just adorable! I haven't looked back at these in a while and I was pleasantly surprised to find this :) Big sister is just beaming with pride! Big sister helped me with this layout, too. Picked the alpha ('cause they sparkle!) and helped me apply all those pearls....I'm afraid she's going to have to get her own stash sooner than I thought :\

Chocolate Chip Cookies {Graphic 45: Domestic Goddess}

Our favorite chocolate chip cookies in this house are the very same recipe on the back of the bag of chocolate chips! I do change it up by using the butter flavored Crisco sticks instead of butter. This is a layout I did of the recipe and a picture of my oldest and my niece. They were baking with their Grandpa in their fancy aprons from Grandma.

This LO will be going in a recipe album that I've decided to start. Not sure yet if I will have just one or one for each of the girls....

The flower is made using this tutorial. So easy to make - just dust off your crimper!
I found the tutorial on the Creative Cookbooking message board which can be found here...there are other tutorials on the board that are just as cool, you should check it out!

Oh, I almost forgot to give credit for the layout - I lifted it from Suzanne :)

Altered Clipboard/Recipe Holder {Graphic 45: Domestic Goddess}

I altered this clipboard (I think it came from Stampin' Up!... It's more square than normal) with Graphic 45 papers - from the Domestic Goddess line. I wasn't sure what to do with the silverware paper on a layout but like it on the clipboard. The apron is made from a template in the Pine Cone Press book that came with the paper.My thought was to use it to hold lists or recipes. It's perfect for the recipe cards I have from my mom...
Love the apron!

Although I think this is cute, I'm just not sure it's my style...so I'm thinking of opening up the Etsy shop to list this for sale! Must go clean the cobwebs ;)

YAY for me!

I've been quiet here on the blog lately but I have been working on some things.

I will show you over the next few days what's kept me busy... They are things I've come up with because I applied to be on the Creative Cookbooking Design Team - and I made it! Be back soon with a project :)

The Really BIG Squishy Hug

I was thinking of making the title of this post "No longer an 8.5 x 11 Virgin" but I figured I might get some really strange people visiting the blog! lol {Did you know that search engines will find your blog based on what the title is? If you want people to be able to find you doing a search, put the keywords in the title that you think they will be searching for.}

Back to why you're here...I've had an 8.5 by 11 album for a few months but this is the first time I've completed a page for it. It was fun to be not so square! =)
This is the sketch I used for the layout - a PageMaps sketch from January....and the materials were mostly all from a mini-kit from Scrap For A Cure.
It's been over a week since I've scrapped before this one...I miss it but life has been pulling me in too many other directions lately. It's a good thing I was so productive the first part of January!
