Smiles & Sunshine {June Kit Birds of A Feather Kit Co: Dear Lizzy "Lucky Charm"}

Hi there! As promised, I have two layouts to share using the June kit at Birds of A Feather Kit Co.   I was in a time crunch so headed to my sketch board at Pinterest and found this one from Sketch Support. I thought the clouds and butterflies would be perfect for the Jillibean Soup Sunshine shapes.
 I added a little bit of a white border to the clouds and layered them with the sun which I painted.
 I also outlined the butterflies:
I can't scrap one daughter without scrapping the other, right? I loved this sketch from Inspired Blueprints (you have until the end of June to get your interpretation in!) It's a rare occasion that my girl looks at the camera AND smiles so I had to document it!
The only piece that is not part of the kit is the piece of flair but it was too perfect to not add it!
Oops, I guess the washi isn't part of the June kit either but it was an extra for a recent kit. The layout just didn't feel completed without a little stitching...just ignore my wobbly stitching there under SMILE. ;)
Hope you are enjoying your weekend - it's our first weekend of summer here!

My First Project Life Page {Project Life Honey Edition}

Just a few days ago, I started my first Project Life album coinciding with the first day of summer/last day of school. I actually tried this project 2 years ago and failed miserably just a few weeks into it. This time, I am going SIMPLE so that I don't have any excuse to give up.

1) Digital - no paper project laying around to find space for and keep little hands out of
2) PL templates - simple and consistent look to my album
3) PL Honey core kit - I'm sticking to this kit for the main parts of the album. Sure, I might add some other things from my stash but I am really trying to limit my time spent browsing through what I have.
4) This first go 'round is just for summer and then I will start fresh again with the first day of 2nd grade/pre-K for the girls. I will have the summer album bound and then I think having that in hand will motivate me to keep going through the whole next year.

This is the first page of my album which is really the last day of school, first partial day of summer. I will not be doing one day per page the rest of the album but I wanted the cover page to be done this way. Journaling has not been added yet because I am waiting to get my own custom handwriting font made (more on that later).

A friend (hi, Kayla!) told me about this challenge blog that just started up, called Week-2-Week and it's for Project Life. Could the timing be any more perfect? I'm hoping I can use their challenges to keep me motivated. To start off their blog, they are hosting a give away of the Blush Core Edition kit...it was my second choice so I would love to have it in paper form! Go check out their new blog here.

I'm working on some paper layouts right now using the June kit from Birds of A Feather...will be back later today to share those!
