I Pinned It Then Did It! {Christmas Crafts}

Last year, I made the outer canvases with my girls - both ideas straight off of Pinterest.

This year, I wanted to do something with them that they wouldn't have to split later on in life :) Again, the idea was straight off of my pinterest boards! I did wise up this year and added some stickles to the gold starts - it adds so much that I think I will go back to last year's tree and add some there as well!
 This year, I also made this cute wine cork tree. I personally think the cookie cutter is too large but haven't found a smaller star just yet. I hot glued everything together so I should be able to replace it easily when I do find a better size star.

My silly girl :)
Did you make any Pinterest crafts this month? I'd love to see them!

Dusting off the 'ole blog! {Pink Paislee: Secret Crush}

I'm not going to be one of those bloggers that promises to be better about blogging this year - 'cause it probably won't happen!

I was cleaning out my google reader feed (trying to get it to a more reasonable number of blogs to follow) and I realized that all of my old challenge blogs are no longer running :( With only a few hours on my hands to scrap, I wanted a fresh place to jump start me! Off to Google I went and I came across a site called Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. I loved the sketch challenge they had up

so I created this was some new Pink Paislee I picked up earlier today:
 A closeup of the first tooth lost! My girl loves hearts, so this paper was perfect :)
 It took me lots of tries to get this cluster right... Clustering does not come easy to me!
I hope to get to play along at this site more often :) Thanks for visiting!

Always Share Your Secrets {Pink Paislee: Prairie Hill Collection}

Hi there! Yes, I have been crafting with paper lately, but I've been finding it hard to get all of my projects blogged :) I was excited to see a fun sketch on PageMaps blog with a deadline of today...it's been a long time since I've entered a layout into any contests! I enjoyed working with the sketch and my new kit from Birds of a Feather.

A couple of my regular challenge sites are no longer up and running so I'd love some suggestions on where you all go to participate in challenges!

Thanks for stopping by! I should have more to share after next weekend since I'll be participating at the "Back to School Crop" over at BOAF. You should come join us!

My Katie-bug {Birds of A Feather March Kit, Authentique: Genuine}

I'm proud to say that after a two month break from scrapping, I still know how to do it! This is a simple page, but it still counts :) I used a sketch over at BOAF for the April challenges using the March kit.
NSD is coming up and I'm choosing to celebrate by scrapping with my friends at BOAF :) Come join us!

Finger Licking Good {Birds of A Feather Kit Co: February; Basic Grey: Kissing Booth}

Three posts in three days - crazy, huh?! I really am trying to be more consistent about my scrapping and truly hope to get quite a bit done this weekend.

Today's layout is created for the current challenge at The Paper Variety. They've made some changes to their challenges (more time to get them done) but this is the first one I've been able to complete so far. It's a sketch challenge:
and here's my interpretation {click on image}:
I used pictures from over a year ago that I had printed - love pulling from my stash of photos :) I used the February kit from BOAF and added just a couple of Bo Bunny embellishments and alphas from my stash. I'm so glad that I was able to play along at TPV again!

Fun at Birds of A Feather in February

I completed this layout for a journaling challenge this month at BOAF. The pictures are a tad lighter than in real life...but be sure to click on them for better viewing!
I misted this flower...or rather poured the mist all over it because my mister was clogged. Grrr. Then I curled the petals and popped the middle up for some dimension. Inspired by a layout/tutorial Janet posted last month using this kit.
My journaling:
Speaking of Birds of A Feather....they are having a crop this weekend! I hope you'll come join me - I always get lots of layouts done with the crops there and if you are lucky to win a prize, Amy is always giving away great stuff! :)

January 2012 Project 12 {Simple Stories: Year.o.graphy}

I'm sure that none of you are keeping up, but I am behind 2 months on my project 12 albums. Well, only one month now...because I skipped December! I will be getting to it soon, very soon :)

{don't forget to click on each picture for a better view!}
I decided to go with January first to try my new kit from Simple Stories line Year.O.Graphy. Since S&CT changed how they are running Project 12, I'm just going to do my own thing, still documenting one month on a two page spread. Even before the changes were announced, I decided to go with this Simple Stories line to give the year of pages a cohesive feel. I did still use a sketch from one of the past two years of the project by S&CT.
 We didn't take too many pictures in January. Most are from our Valentine's sessions and then there's a sleeping baby picture. The picture in the upper right is hard to figure out - but it's my two girls with their friend playing outside in a tent that they created using umbrellas. They had so much fun that afternoon :) And of course I'm just now realizing I didn't include that in my journaling at all...I'll go add  a little blurb next to the picture before I put the layout away.
I have two more layouts to share with you so check back soon!

I'm back! {Basic Grey: Kissing Booth; February Birds of A Feather Kit Co}

Hello! Are you still reading? lol I know it's been a long, long time but I have lots to share :) I'm going to share two layouts today and then I'll try to get my (completed!) December Daily posted to share tomorrow.

I can't tell you how happy I am to be back to creating full size layouts. These are both direct lifts from Linda (was sooo happy to see her chosen as a DT member for BOAF this term!). My kit was fresh on my doorstep yesterday and she happened to blog her first two layouts yesterday as well. I'm not sure that I would have thought to go with baby pictures with the kit - but once I saw her pages, I knew which photos to use :) Here is Linda's:
and mine:
 My darn sewing machine. I did NOT miss haggling with it during my break from using it!

 And then Linda's again:

The hearts were calling my name! lol Here's mine:

Sorry, the wind kept carrying my layouts away so I couldn't get any more closeups of this one! I hope everyone's new year is treating them well. If you are still reading, I would love to hear from you!
