{Sweet} Glitz Design: Love Nest

I was forced to spend quite a bit of $ at my LSS last week (unfortunately, I really mean forced in a negative way) and so I bought about 8 sheets of this PP from Glitz Design - LOVE IT! The cardstock for the photo frames & flowers as well as the patterned paper are kit extras in the BOAF Feb kit. The buttons & thread are from my stash (Stampin' Up!) and the Thickers are another "forced" purchase. That border/corner punch was also something I bought at the LSS and has got to be the messiest punch ever! lol

 I posted a tutorial in the forums for how to make these flowers. You can check it out here.
BOAF is hosting a crop this weekend - come check it out! Amy always sends AWESOME goodies ;)

Birds of a Feather February Kit {Lily Bee: Lovely; Glitz Design: Love Nest}

I was awarded a guest designer spot for February at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. and I was so excited when I got my kit - I think it was made for me and pictures of my girls! ;) This first layout is of my youngest at less than a week old. The green background goes so well with the greens in the paper! I used a PageMaps sketch but it's from 2009 I think?

And then this layout is using a picture of my mom. One of the few pictures that I have of her! My PSA of the week: Be sure you get out from behind that camera so that your kids will have pictures of YOU! ;) This is the very first layout I have made using a picture of her...and I felt so pressured to make it a great one!
 A double using pictures of my girl taken by my boss. The girls had a tea party! The colors of this kit are perfect for these pictures :-D I used sketch #7 at Sketch Support for this one and have since added journaling along the bottom curve. My brown journaling pen dried up and I forgot to buy a new pen before I took the picture!
 I also made a mini album of my girls with the pictures from the tea party. (sorry for the dark photos, we had several days of rain around here!)

 And lastly, a card using a PageMaps sketch that I had seen on Scrapbook & Cards Today blog earlier this past week. Kayla made a better card and I've shortened my strip of yellow stripe paper after seeing hers ;)
If you'd like to see closeups and read more details about these projects you can read about them here on the forums - it's free to register! This kit is so much fun to work with - I still have plenty more paper & accessories for a few more layouts, hopefully I will get some more of those done soon. If you'd like to checkout the kit, you can purchase & view more details here and don't forget to check the extras section, too!

Recipe LO {Cosmo Cricket: Garden Variety}

I made this layout for Janet's sketch challenge over at Kitchen Keepsake. It was for a crop a couple weekends back but I'm just now getting around to getting a good picture & posting it! It also works for Kayla's January CC challenge over at scrapbook.com.
 Speaking of the CC challenge at scrapbook.com - I won for December! Thanks to everyone who voted for me ;) Just a few days after the vote, THIS arrived for me. Isn't it the cutest delivery box?! They are so clever! Get it CC, like CiCi's Pizza? Or is that just a coincidence?
 So I'm not eligible this month for the challenge, but you still have time! The challenge bonus was to use at least 3 pieces of chipboard - I've got lots with the layered flowers and the cute corn :)
Here's a closeup of the recipe for you - but I'm still not sure you can read it. Basically, get a variety of colors in your veggies, chop them up, add some garlic, salt & pepper, EVOO. Roast it at 400 degrees for 15-20 mins. I chop my veggies and make 3 servings, then freeze 2 for another time.

Project 12: Jan-Dec 2010

I'm very good at starting projects, but not always so great at finishing them ;)

 I am SO PROUD to say that I completed Project 12 for all of last year!

I have already shown some of these layouts here on the blog but not all AND I thought it would be great to show my scrappy friends (some are considering joining me for P12 this year) how the whole year flows together. I just can't say enough how much I love these pages (even though they certainly aren't all my best work) and I look through them often!

From the beginning, I decided to use kraft cardstock on each layout to help the pages feel cohesive. I'm sure that I'll continue that for this year, and I also plan to use calendar die cuts - still need to get my hands on some of those! I will also take a picture of each layout right away and keep it in a separate folder on my desktop so that sharing all of them at the end of 2011 will be much easier ;)

Enjoy....and leave me a comment telling me which month was your favorite!

My *almost* twin

My online friend, Kayla, is having a giveaway on her blog. You should check it out here and enter by leaving a comment. Super easy!

I say she's almost my twin because we have LOTS of similarities. But in reality, she's much more creative than I am ;) so if you like my work, you'll surely love hers!

There IS such a thing as "too much stickles"!

I can finally show you this layout! I completed it back in November as part of a layout tag. (A group of people lift each other's layouts only being able to see the 1 person ahead of you.) I was second on the list and had to wait patiently to give everyone else time to make theirs :) The results are posted here but THIS is my layout :-)
And this is the layout I lifted from.
Amy's stickles are NOT overboard... now my layout? Yep, those skinny rays didn't ALL need them but I didn't realize it till I was too far into it! And then the top had so much glitter that I had to balance it out on the bottom ;)

That poor paper was so warped before I was done with it! What I really liked about this LO was that even though the picture on the left was over exposed and I couldn't make it look very good in Photoshop, it feels to me like the picture is MEANT to be that way because of the angle of the sun rays!

4 Princesses & 1 Prince {Echo Park: Merry Christmas}

My first layout of 2011!
The layout is based on sketch #57 at Inspired Blueprints.

 I finally got my hands on some Echo Park thanks to Amy - this is just a tiny part of the goodies she sent me from the crop in December. EP DOES exist! The local stores in the area aren't carrying it so I guess I'm going to have to get it all online. Adding the playbill was a last minute idea, so the colors don't exactly match, but it has the all of the autographs from the dancers in the pictures.

Hope you are all having a fantastic New Year!
