Starting today, Kitchen Keepsakes is holding a crop a.k.a The Food Network Mixer. The challenges are all posted and you have lots to choose from, I've got a few picked out myself that I hope to get to this weekend ;)
The layouts/projects aren't due until May 4th so you have plenty of time! This is a great crop if you've wanted to scrap some recipes :)

Cute & Adorable {Basic Grey: Olivia}
I'm back today with more Basic Grey :) My largest stash based on manufacturer is definitely Basic Grey but I haven't used in any ages till just recently. I love the Olivia line and had forgotten how much until I was in search for paper for this picture. I've had this picture for over a year but wasn't sure what I wanted to have for the title & journaling...
Enter this month's journaling challenge at Birds of A Feather - to scrap a conversation. I ask my oldest daughter often if she likes being a big sister and the answer has pretty much stayed the same for the past two years. She really does love her little sister to pieces and I'm so excited to know that they have each other to grow up with! MY sister is one of my best friends :-)
This LO is also for the challenge at The Paper Variety to use polka dots!

Happy Birthday #30! {Basic Grey: Olivia}
Today I have a two-fer to share with you!
The challenge this week at The Paper Variety is to create something with paper that includes a number. I decided to make a card for a friend's upcoming 30th birthday...and unfortunately she's going to see it here on the blog before she gets it in the mail because she's a blog reader! lol The card is also for the color challenge over at Birds of A Feather.

Eggs-tra Scary! & Easter Cones {Cosmo Cricket: Togetherness}
Happy Easter! I just wanted to share a layout I worked on this week - the picture was taken just a couple of week ago and I think it's great that I have one smiling and one screaming ;) Thanks to Suzanne for help with the title! I used a PageMaps sketch from February. I'm not super thrilled with my stamping or sewing but I thought overall it was super cute :-)
I made these for teacher gifts & stuffed them full of candy. I saw the idea here and changed just a couple of things but they were a big hit. The carrot was SUPER easy to make as you didn't have to embellish with anything except green grass and ribbon ;)Thanks for stopping by & I hope you are all having a great weekend :)

March Project 12 {Cosmo Cricket: Togetherness}
Here is my March layout for Project 12:
And some closer shots...I have drawn some stitches for the butterfly trails but obviously it isn't dark enough. I think I'll try fixing that...The layered clouds were fun! Kayla sent me the tree and butterfly chipboad pieces just in the nick of time! Thanks Kayla :) The tree is from the March kit at Birds of a Feather Kit Co.The kite took me a little while to get just right but I like it :)
All of the patterned papers are Cosmo Cricket Togetherness line - the kite string paper was just perfect! One of the pictures on the left side is actually of DD flying a kite. I was giddy when I was taking those pictures and remembered that the sketch used a kite!
I've got to admit that some months I really drag my feet on doing the layout because they seem to take me longer than a normal layout...but in the end I'm always so happy that I did! I hope to get time soon for some more scrapping :) Thanks for your comments!

Happiness
Happiness is a few hours at home all by myself! Wednesdays are the days just for me, but I rarely get to spend that time at home doing what I want to do. Today was the day :) It ended up being only a couple of hours, but I managed to scrapbook and get this done: I completed this for the "Use-your-stash Challenge" at Birds of a Feather Kit Co....the challenge was to use at least 3 types of bling. I was at a loss for what I would do until someone mentioned sequins. I found this guy in a pack of two at Michael's for $2! My alphas are glittery & I also included the rhinestone flower :)
I'm officially addicted to stitching! I would guess I'm doing about half machine and half by hand and am learning to slow down so that I don't make so many mistakes, lol. I lifted this layout from Janet. When I saw her misting, I knew that I wanted to try it! (I was starting to think I never would use mists) I finally found a bottle of chalkboard glimmer mist - some shade of pink, of course ;) - and love the effects. You can't tell in the picture but there is a nice, shiny glitter feel to the misting :) I did pick up a bottle of brown as well so you can expect to see more misting from me!

I love to see you bloom {Cosmo Cricket: DeLovely}
This month, Kayla's Cosmo Cricket challenge at scrapbook.com is to mix the fonts for your title. I love to use mini alphas with large ones so I knew this would be easy for me :)
This layout is also for the Flower Power challenge at Birds of A Feather. We were challenged to use 2 floral patterened papers and 10 flower embellishments, PLUS we had to make one flower and explain how!! The pink & yellow flower with the yellow brad is the one that I made..The title idea is actually taken from one of the border strips in the DeLovely kit.
But this is my favorite part of the layout - I'm addicted to sewing!
Oh, and of course I used a sketch for this layout :) Unfortunately, I didn't write down what month and year it was from :( BUT I do know it's a PageMaps sketch.
As always, thanks for stopping by and especially thanks for all the sweet comments you leave me ;)
