Pig Valentine Treat Holder

Today I have another edition of "I pinned it, then I did it!" My 1st grader needed a valentine box and we browsed Pinterest for ideas. She wanted a unicorn but when I came across this post in my blog reader, I knew I could convince her to go with the pig! Here is our version...we made a couple of changes to the design but mostly kept it the same. {This picture is pre-party}
After the party, I wanted to get some closeups of the face and backside ;) If you look closely, you can see ME in piggy's eyes! haha!
My daughter wanted to add the mouth and I think it was the perfect touch!
The only item we had to purchase for this project was pipe cleaners - and I think that was her favorite part. So cute!
We were able to get all of the valentines out through piggy's snout and everyone was excited that we didn't have to perform surgery ;)

Another Freaking Scrappy February Sketch Challenge {January Birds of a Feather Kit Co: Glitz Design Cashmere Dame}

I wanted to share with you all my last page for my guest design team spot at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge! It was based on this sketch:
and this is what I came up with:
The photos are very special to me from a sentimental day last year. My dad was in town just for a few short hours for my step-mom's memorial service. Seven of his eight grandkids were there! {Yep, that's my kid acting crazy in the photo and I was not even the one behind the camera!}
 I created this accordion heart using Ann's tutorial at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. So easy!
 You have until the end of the month to enter your layout based on this sketch. I would love to see your entry! :) My layout was created using the January kit from Birds of A Feather Kit Co...I just love all the different patterns and designs included in this kit! :)

Happy Valentine's Day! {The Twinery & Birds of a Feather Kit Co}

Just a day late...Happy Valentine's Day! I hope your day was filled with lots of love! :) I know mine was and that's why I'm late in posting...

I came across a free download from The Twinery and immediately knew I wanted to use it for my 3 year old daughter's class. She LOVES gummy worms...but when I asked her about it she wanted to give her friends "rainbow" goldfish instead of gummy worms. I thought it would be cheaper to go with goldfish but I'm not so sure.... I picked the bags up a while back at Pick Your Plum and used twine from my stash. The washi tape is also from PYP. {click on image for better viewing}
 Both girls gifted their teachers altered notebooks, pens and binder clips. So cute! I made bookmarks for each girl and they were a BIG hit! :)

I *have* been scrapping lately but only sharing my layouts at Birds of a Feather Kit Co . We are having a crop next weekend - hope you will join us!

February Challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge {Crate Paper: Random Collection}

A month ago I completed a sketch challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. Little did I know that they choose a guest designer each month randomly from the participants. I was honored to be chosen as one of February's guest designers! Today I have the first of two layouts to share with you.

The challenge is to scrap about my passion. Of course I knew I would choose pictures of my two daughters! I used some of my stash for this - Crate Paper: Random Collection.
 Here's a closeup of the journaling :)
I hope you will join me with this challenge, you have until the end of the month to submit! Click here to see more examples from the design team and to enter your own layout.

I Pinned It Then Did It! {Christmas Crafts}

Last year, I made the outer canvases with my girls - both ideas straight off of Pinterest.

This year, I wanted to do something with them that they wouldn't have to split later on in life :) Again, the idea was straight off of my pinterest boards! I did wise up this year and added some stickles to the gold starts - it adds so much that I think I will go back to last year's tree and add some there as well!
 This year, I also made this cute wine cork tree. I personally think the cookie cutter is too large but haven't found a smaller star just yet. I hot glued everything together so I should be able to replace it easily when I do find a better size star.

My silly girl :)
Did you make any Pinterest crafts this month? I'd love to see them!

Dusting off the 'ole blog! {Pink Paislee: Secret Crush}

I'm not going to be one of those bloggers that promises to be better about blogging this year - 'cause it probably won't happen!

I was cleaning out my google reader feed (trying to get it to a more reasonable number of blogs to follow) and I realized that all of my old challenge blogs are no longer running :( With only a few hours on my hands to scrap, I wanted a fresh place to jump start me! Off to Google I went and I came across a site called Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. I loved the sketch challenge they had up

so I created this was some new Pink Paislee I picked up earlier today:
 A closeup of the first tooth lost! My girl loves hearts, so this paper was perfect :)
 It took me lots of tries to get this cluster right... Clustering does not come easy to me!
I hope to get to play along at this site more often :) Thanks for visiting!

Always Share Your Secrets {Pink Paislee: Prairie Hill Collection}

Hi there! Yes, I have been crafting with paper lately, but I've been finding it hard to get all of my projects blogged :) I was excited to see a fun sketch on PageMaps blog with a deadline of today...it's been a long time since I've entered a layout into any contests! I enjoyed working with the sketch and my new kit from Birds of a Feather.

A couple of my regular challenge sites are no longer up and running so I'd love some suggestions on where you all go to participate in challenges!

Thanks for stopping by! I should have more to share after next weekend since I'll be participating at the "Back to School Crop" over at BOAF. You should come join us!
